Although your 20s are very important years of finding yourself, developing your true passion, growing and building your career, and try to live a meaningful and productive life, there is one thing that you should also never forget - that is to make sure you’re fostering relationships and spending time with your family and closest friends.
Since these transformative years will be full of ups and downs, challenges and triumphs, heartaches and fun days, it is important to be surrounded by people who genuinely care about you and want you to succeed, and there’s no other group of people who do that other than your family. I am very fortunate and lucky to be surrounded by family and friends during my 20s, which really helped me with my goals and aspirations in life. They have provided me with countless feedback, advice, and words of encouragement throughout these years. They were there when I was at my lowest, trying to figure out what I truly want to do with my life, and they were also there when I experienced some of the greatest accomplishments I have ever achieved. Having these special individuals is such a blessing and joy to anyone who is trying to navigate this stage in life.
Spending time with family and friends also promotes a healthy work and life balance. While trying to build your life and finding your true calling is important, not taking breaks will also overwhelm you and burn you out, causing more harm than good to yourself. It is important to spend some time slowing down, going on a trip with family without worrying about work, or perhaps going bar-hopping with friends on a Friday night. Having a healthy work life balance will allow you to be physically and mentally healthy, motivated, and overall have a good mood towards life and for the future.
So go ahead and close that laptop, text your friends and go have a fun night out with some drinks and tacos!
